ü  Google, Samsung Turn to Face Detection to Take on Apple:
o   Google and Samsung unveiled their new Smartphone software, Pitching facial recognition programmes that enhance security and photo sorting to challenge Apple’s Record- breaking iPhone.

ü  Apple’s Profit Up 54%, but iPhone sales fall:
o   For any big company, a 54% increase in profit and a 39% jump in the revenue would be enviable.
o   For Apple though, weak sales of its star product- the iPhone- were enough to over-shadow everything else when it reported fourth-quarter results on Tuesday, sending the company’s shares tumbling near 7% in after hours trading.

ü  Create Jobs in the US for a faster Green Card:
o   A US Visa Category offers you quicker route to a Green Card, but you have to make an investment and Staff people.
o   The programme facilitates foreign entrepreneurs’ capital investment that creates  or preserves US jobs by supporting the establishment of new commercial enterprises or assist troubled US-based businesses in economically distressed areas.

ü   The Sahara Group has won an appeal against the I-T department that will fetch it a refund of Rs.1800 Cr.

ü  Mahindra & Mahindra Planning Rs. 4 Lakh Nano SUV for India:
o   M & M is developing with Ssangyong, the South Korean SUV maker it acquired last year.
o   Code named S101, the Nano SUV- as it is being dubbed in some sections by worker’s on M&M’s shop floors will be powered by 1 or 1.2 litre Petrol engines and 1.5 litre Diesel engines.

ü  Tech trouble thru CIO glasses:
o   A survey of Chief Information officers point to declining IT spend and macro deterioration. Outsourcing may see some +ve trends.

ü  Chennai-based CSS Corp whose previous CEOs quit owing to differences with its influential private equity investors , plans to list its shares in the stock exchanges in the next two years.

ü  Researchers Warn of New Computer Virus, Duqu:
o   First there was the Stuxnet Computer virus that wreaked Havoc on Iran’s nuclear program. Now comes Duqu, which researchers say appears to be quite similar.
